Gemita Samarra is 'The Underwater Model'. With a background in competing internationally in Synchronised swimming and free diving, Gemita took naturally to performing underwater on film and it's exactly what kick started her career in film and TV. Her credits for underwater work within film, TV and commercials are extensive and include Bedlam (TV), Pressure (Film), The Infiltrator (Film), Sony (Commercial), Miss Peregrines Home for Peculiar Children (Film) and many more commercials and music videos. As well as performing and doubling, Gemita has coordinated and directed underwater too. When doubling, she spends a lot of her work time training actors to become more comfortable in the water.

Gemita's first ever job was for a UK TV series called 'Bedlam' on Sky Living. She was cast as an actress that could perform comfortably underwater. Her role was a villain that haunted the swimming pool (See below)
It was this job that she met Mark Silk- one of the industries best underwater cameramen. They instantly hit it off and Mark immediately recommended Gemita for further underwater jobs, one of them being 'The Siren' directed by Laura Jean Healey. It was for the first ever life size hologram art instillation. It has since won many awards, including Gold award for Passion For Freedom and the MAMA's coorporate award. After working on 'The Siren' and 'Bedlam', Gemita decided there was a niche in the market for specialising in underwater work. This led to her booking numerous commercials and music videos as well as her continuation in film and TV.

Gemita's first feature film after working in TV and commercials for a couple of years was 'Pressure', starring opposite Danny Huston, Joe Cole and Matthew Goode. Gemita played Joe's pregnant wife in the film and one of her scenes was an underwater siren scene.
